unsuitable to His Lordship.
Concerning the present Court Holdings, I have nothing to say except that I know the majority, if not all, of the members of the profession have frequently expressed a desire to have more time at their disposal for recreation and rest than they have hitherto been able to obtain.
In the past year, the whole profession, and that was the only profession on that account agreed to a cessation of business for about a fortnight.
I have not the slightest objection to the Chief Justice transacting chamber practice at his place of residence, nor have I any inconvenience to complain of, so far as clients are concerned. We can fearlessly assert that neither have they, nor have their interests ever, in any way suffered from His Lordship receiving applications at his own home instead of at Court.
And that the Profession generally have not felt any serious discontent on account thereof is apparent from the desire always exhibited during term to bring applications before the Chief Justice on summons in preference to making a motion in Court. Matters not strictly cognizable by the practice at Chambers.
